Motor Vehicle at Sparsholt

Here are some key facts about the Motor Vehicle courses at Sparsholt College:

  • New Motor Vehicle centre opened in 2014
  • 100% pass rate on all Motor Vehicle courses for the last 4 years
  • Talented team of staff are all industry trained
  • Courses from Level 1 through to Level 3 as well as Apprenticeships offered
  • Industry trips and visits to places such as Teamsport Go-karting, World Rally Championships, Auto Sport International Show, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Mercedes World and more
  • Ex students now working in F1, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Pitt Lane Restoration, BMW specialist, Local council repair depot, Subaru specialist, Extrac transmissions and Picador Vauxhall.

Motor Vehicle is an ever changing industry which is demanding a more qualified and skilful workforce. Not only is there the standard Petrol and Diesel engine cars, we are now moving to Electric, Hybrid and self-drive vehicles. The best technicians will need to have skills in all these areas to help secure and maintain the top jobs within the industry. Our students still need to learn the basic maintenance of a vehicle. Cars will still have brakes, electrics, bodywork and wheels and tyres. Students will work their way up to Level 3 fault finding skills and working with very high voltage. Our Level 1s are starting to learn about Electric and Hybrid cars now alongside a good work ethic which continues through to Level 2 and 3. This will give them the best chance of securing full-time work.

So by producing a high performing student with good practical and problem solving skills, alongside an improving English and Maths knowledge, we are giving the students the best start to their careers.
